Francis McGarvey, PT, MPT

Francis McGarveyFran joined Platinum Physical Therapy in July of 2008 as the clinic’s Managing Director. He became a Physical Therapy Assistant in 1985 and worked for 10 years in acute, outpatient orthopedic and rehabilitation settings. In 1995, he returned to graduate school and completed his Masters in Physical Therapy in 1997 at Neumann College in Glen Mills, Pennsylvania. Since completing graduate school, Fran has taken an extensive number of continuing education courses and is a Golf Fitness Training instructor. Fran is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association and serves as a mentor to many young therapists and students interested in the field of physical therapy. Fran is also very active in the local community — coaching high school and travel ice hockey teams for the past 10 years. In his free time, Fran enjoys playing the piano and guitar and spending time with his family.

Amanda Gerwer, PT, DPT

Physical Therapist

Amanda GerwerAmanda joined Platinum Physical Therapy in June of 2010. She graduated with a doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from Arcadia University in February 2009. Prior to attending physical therapy school, she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from Temple University where she was also a member of the women’s fencing team. While at Arcadia, Amanda participated in various research projects and presented work at the American Physical Therapy Association’s Combined Sections Meeting on shoulder injuries in high school swimmers as well as new research on motor drive in an active elderly population. She is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association and is working towards a clinical focus in orthopedics and sports medicine. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys kayaking, hiking and mountain biking.
